Should Everyone Be On GLP-1 medication?
This article by Derek Thompson provided the spark for me to start this newsletter. I’ve been taking Zepbound for a year now and have had such great results that I really wanted an outlet to be able to share information on how transformational I think this medication will be. Every week it seems like there’s a new study or news story that espouses the benefits of GLP-1s and how they do so much more than help you lose weight. I agree with Derek’s take that No, not everyone should be on GLP-1s at this point but the future seems very bright and I can’t wait to share it all with you.
Other News
Serena Williams recently revealed she is using Zepbound to help her lose weight. I think it’s a good thing when a celebrity is open and honest about using this medication and can help de-stigmatize some of the negativity out there.
GLP-1s linked to reduced cancer risk. The benefits seem to go well beyond weight loss.

Tips, Tricks & Side Effect Hacks
Hydration/Protein/Movement - Especially when starting out, these are three pillars to focus on to start you off on the right foot. Drinking plenty of water as GLP-1 medication can have a dehydrating effect. I aim for 80oz+ a day and keep a large bottle close by at all times. Protein is also very important and trying to incorporate some into each time you eat can be helpful in hitting your goals. I add protein bars/shakes/powder to my daily regimen to help hit these goals. And movement ties it all together. There can be some muscle loss while losing weight quickly so even start out walking frequently (which I did) is great and progressing to a strength training program.
